AZIO Tera 75 Mechanical Keyboard Review

Final Thoughts

I have been using the Tera 75 as my main keyboard for the past few weeks. So my use with the keyboard not only included typing, but also gaming. As far a comfort and how this keyboard actually feels by experience was a good one. I think that AZIO really got the feel and angle of this keyboard. I never felt like it was too flat or anything like that. That is always a worry I have with keyboards that don’t have any type of height adjustment. But overall the Gateron G Pro switches with the materials of the keyboard made for a very good typing experience. I really would have liked to have seen PBT keycaps instead of the PBT keycaps though.

AZIO is really making this keyboard stand out with the different materials. Our sample, the Abyss has a glossy finish with a thick aluminum faceplate and aluminum control knob. There is the Moonlight version made with silver aluminum and then you have the Mortar version which is made of concrete and has a wooden knob! These are definitely materials that we haven’t seen on a keyboard before. Another awesome thing is that the faceplates and knobs are interchangeable. They easily come off and AZIO is offering a handful of different options.

Talking about materials as I mentioned this is of the heaviest keyboards that I’ve actually used. Picking it up, it feels like a tank! Beyond the outer materials this has a lot to do with what is inside and AZIO is using a triple-layer application of silicone, PORON foam, and switch pad. Using this layer design the keyboard feels solid when you are typing on it.

While there is a lot to like about this keyboard I do feel like gamers are a bit left out here. For one there is no software so for all of those who want to reprogram the keyboard or use macros you’ll have to rely on third-party software. While Bluetooth connectivity might be fine for some, gamers would for sure appreciate 2.4 GHz connectivity, which is absent.

Overall I think that this is one of the better keyboards I’ve reviewed lately. AZIO will be offering the keyboard on Kickstarter for $140 and will be selling it at retail for $199. Overall ThinkComputers gives the AZIO Tera 75 Mechanical Keyboard a 9 out of 10 score.
